At our studio, everybody who’s new to pole dance starts in the same place, but no two journeys ever look the same. Whether you’re discovering your first spin or dreaming of advanced aerial combos in Level 6, our levelling system is here to support you at your own pace.
Step 1: Laying the Foundation with Pole Basics
Everyone begins their journey with 12 Pole Basics classes. These classes are all about building the essentials: how to grip and spin safely, how to move with intention, and how to start linking your very first dance moves and tricks. It’s your space to explore, grow confidence, and get familiar with the pole.
Once you’ve completed your 12 Basics classes, you’re ready to move on to Level 1! Just let us know when you’ve hit that milestone so we can update your account and add your Level 1 tag.
Step 2: Moving Into Level 1 and Beyond
From Level 1 onward, your path becomes uniquely yours. Some students train multiple times a week, while others join us just once or twice a month. Everyone brings a different background, strength, and goal, and we fully embrace that.
There’s no standard timeline. Some students advance to higher levels within months, while others prefer to take more time to deepen their practice. Progress is never linear, and that’s the beauty of it.
If you’re ever unsure whether you’re ready to level up, don’t hesitate to talk to your instructor. We’re happy to help you assess your current situation and let you know what might still be missing before you move to the next level.
What Makes a Level?
Each level in our studio is structured around a specific set of climbs, tricks, spins, floorwork, and transitions. But it’s not just about being able to do individual moves. It’s about performing them with strength, control, precision and fluidity. You should feel confident linking them together in different ways, combining both easier and more challenging transitions to create a dance that feels like your own.
Only when you’re able to execute all required moves consistently and gracefully, and integrate them into combinations with flow and ease, do we recommend levelling up. It’s a process of refinement, not just achievement.
Higher Levels, Deeper Practice
The further you progress, the more complex things become. Not just in terms of the number of moves, but in how they connect. Transitions get more detailed, combinations more creative, and the demand on both strength and coordination increases.
For example, a student training one to two times per week might spend around a year in Level 1. In contrast, dancers often spend several years in Level 4, refining their skills through layered combos and advanced transitions. Level 6 is our highest class, where the most experienced students continue evolving their technique and artistic expression at a high level.
And remember: if you ever feel unsure about whether you’re in the right level, just ask. Our team is always here to help you grow and challenge yourself in equal measure.
No Pressure to Level Up
One of the most important things we want to share is this: you don’t have to level up if you don’t want to. If you’re enjoying the combos, connecting with the music, and having fun in class, that’s more than enough.
There’s no rush and no pressure. We’ll never push you to move up before you’re ready or if you’re simply happy where you are. Pole is about joy, self-expression, and feeling good in your body. If that’s what you’re getting from your current level, then you’re exactly where you need to be.
We’re With You All the Way
Wherever you are in your pole journey, we see you. Whether you’re learning your very first spin or working on an advanced aerial combo, you’re already doing something amazing.
So keep asking questions. Keep showing up. Keep dancing.
And when you’re ready to level up – whenever that may be – we’ll be right here to celebrate with you.
