Still at the Beginning of Your Pole Dancing Journey?

We give you four Non-Pole Beginner Tutorials & show you what is crucial on your pole level & how you can positively influence your pole dance skills from home. Because in class sometimes there is not enough time to train certain movements intensively enough. With our Non-Pole Beginner Tutorials you can finally take the time & practice on your own. This training can do wonders for your further pole journey.

Conditioning

Good conditioning is the be-all and end-all of any workout. Especially in pole dancing, the focus is on muscles and muscle groups that are often neglected in other workouts. To prepare you best for the spins and tricks, we have put together a selection of different exercises. How intensive you want to make your conditioning training is up to you. The exercises are also suitable for integration into your current training program – Repetition is Queen.

Flexibility

It is well known that stretching not only increases flexibility, which in turn allows you to do more moves on the pole, but is also important in reducing the risk of injury. As a pole dance beginner, flexibility in the hips and legs is extremely important. In this tutorial we will address exactly this topic and show various exercises.

Floor Tricks

“I feel lost on the floor” – we hear from Pole Beginners all the time. This does not have to be! Especially floor moves & tricks are best suited to learn, consolidate and perfect them at home. We have put together a selection of what we consider to be the most important floor tricks, so that you can glide across the floor with confidence on your next freestyle – the floor is your friend.

Waves

Bodywaves & Legwaves cover only a small part of the countless different types of Waves in Pole Dance. In addition, waves appear in various tricks and choreographies. Being able to perform Waves not only fluidly, but also cleanly in different positions takes practice. Perfect that you can now practice them intensively at home with this tutorial.

A saying we often hear. But what is it about pole movement, whether spin or trick, that makes it look so perfect and effortless? Here are a few small but crucial tips:

Beginning & end of the movement

Always be aware of where a spin or trick begins & ends and place accents there. Always execute the move completely without shortening it. By pausing briefly in the last position of the move or in the desired trick, you strengthen the effect and dance your movements more clearly.

Posture

An upright and proud posture is crucial. It’s not just about a straight back, but the posture of your whole body, including your head. Try to point your head forward and avoid looking at the floor.

Point Point Point

And even if you can no longer hear the word: Beautiful lines are based on stretched knees and feet. Try to develop a higher awareness of your body and work on your tension. Are your knees extended and your feet in point, or are they perhaps not quite?

Pole Training at Home

There are also poles for home, which can be conveniently clamped between the floor & ceiling (without any screws). However, the purchase of your own pole needs to be considered carefully, as they cost between CHF 250.- and 350.- – but they will last a pole’s lifetime. We recommend to buy only poles from a trustworthy manufacturer, because we would like to avoid any “pole-fails”. Here you can find the X-Poles for your training at home. You want to train regularly for you, but you have no space or pole at home? No problem, we have the solution! With the Studio Access you get your own badge and your personal access to our studio 7 days a week. Train when and how you want, no matter if pole dance, floor flow, pilates, stretching or strength training. We provide you with the space or a pole and you will also find various aids in the studio, such as yoga mats, blocks, weights, balls, etc..
