Fabienne’s Pole Dance Journey

At Gravity Arts, we celebrate the stories of resilience, empowerment, and transformation that define our incredible community. Today, we’re honored to share the inspiring journey of Fabienne, who discovered not only her passion for pole dancing but also her strength to overcome self-doubt and past trauma.

A Dream Pushed Aside

Fabienne had always been mesmerized by the beauty and strength of pole dancing. “There was something captivating about the grace, strength, and confidence that seemed to radiate from them,” she recalls. In 2022, she decided to take her first pole dancing lesson, a step toward exploring a dream she had held close for years.

But just as she was beginning her journey, her abusive ex-partner crushed her confidence. “He told me I was ‘too fat’ for pole dancing, that I wasn’t the right body type to do something so athletic,” Fabienne shares. The hurtful words struck deep, and she put aside her newfound passion.

Rebuilding After Breaking Free

After breaking free from the toxic relationship, Fabienne began a journey of healing and self-discovery. It wasn’t an easy road, but over time, she found the strength to reclaim the things she loved.

Eventually, she returned to pole dancing, determined to prove to herself that every body was capable of being on the pole. “I fell in love with pole dancing – not just with the moves or the strength it demanded, but with how it made me feel empowered, free, and alive,” she says.

Embracing Liberation Through the Pole

Through pole dancing, Fabienne found liberation – not just from her past, but from the self-doubt that once weighed her down. She realized that the only body type that mattered was her own and the only opinion that counted was hers.

Gravity Arts became her sanctuary. “It wasn’t just about learning the moves, it was about reclaiming my confidence and strength,” she explains. The supportive instructors and welcoming community created a space where Fabienne could truly thrive. “The beautiful people at Gravity Arts showed me that I am worthy.”

Taking the Stage

After a year of dedication and growth, Fabienne stepped onto the stage to perform for the first time. “Winning wasn’t my goal – it was about facing my fears and embracing the journey,” she says. But when she did win, it felt like the ultimate validation of her hard work and courage.

She credits much of her success to Laura, her “pole mama.” “Her guidance, belief, and constant support made all the difference. She helped me find the courage to be my true self, both on and off the stage,” Fabienne says with gratitude.

A Story of Empowerment

Fabienne’s story is a testament to the transformative power of pole dancing – not just as an art form but as a tool for healing, empowerment, and self-expression.

To anyone who might feel held back by self-doubt or the words of others, Fabienne offers this advice: “The only opinion that matters is your own. Pole dancing is for everybody and every body. Step onto the pole, embrace the challenge, and discover just how strong and beautiful you are.”

Thank you, Fabienne, for sharing your incredible journey. Your story will inspire many others to take that first step and find their own freedom, strength, and joy on the pole. 🌟
